  • Bravado Poetry Competition

    Closing date: 31 August 2009

    This year is the sixth annual International Poetry Competition for the literary magazine Bravado. I'd urge you, as readers and writers, to subscribe to this wonderful, bumper-packed literary magazine published from the Bay of Plenty.

    The judge this year is Sue Wootton who won a place in The Six Pack 3 and is an established and talented poet.

    • 1st Prize $500
    • 2nd Prize $250
    • 3rd Prize $100
    plus 5 Highly Commended prizes of one year’s subscription
     
    There is also a special Prize of $100 for a previously unpublished poet.

    The winning poems will be published in Bravado 17.

  • Writers on Monday – Wellington

    Making the most of Mondays

    From mid-July each year, the International Institute of Modern Letters, home of Victoria University’s renowned creative writing programme, runs a series of events highlighting writers active in and around Wellington, as well as guests from overseas.

    Writers on Mondays is a stimulating way to start the working week – and it’s free!

    Time:   Mondays, 12.15–1.15pm
    Venue: The Marae, Level 4, Te Papa
    Please note that no food may be taken onto The Marae.
